CBRE Head Office, Auckland | Jacobsen NZ Flooring

Designed by STACK Interiors, CBRE’s head office on Level 37 of ANZ Centre in Auckland is a high-performing, contemporary workplace. Its open and relaxed spaces suit different working styles, enabling seamless collaboration with anyone across the business. The clever incorporation of thoughtful design details balances form, function, beauty, and elements of fun.

CBRE developed a new workplace strategy that allowed them to condense to a single floor within the same building, shifting to a fully agile way of working through unassigned desks, blended neighbourhoods, and various individual and collaborative settings.

A key design consideration was the diversity of needs to be met within the single floorplate, including a balance between open collaborative areas and enclosed spaces for focused work. Social and large collaborative spaces are contained in an integrated front-of-house space shared by staff and visitors.

Form, shape and greenery create intimate, inviting and tactile spaces within the large community area. The community area also includes a kitchen and meeting rooms that can be transformed into one large seminar space, and semi-private booths with soft seating.

Linear hard flooring replicates the Auckland streetscape below with carpeted areas defining the meeting and social spaces. Light interior timber extending out and transitioning to dark materials near the windows make the inner spaces feel lighter.

The Haven Identity carpet tile range by Shaw Contract is featured throughout the collaborative and meeting spaces, adding warmth, texture and an element of home that blurs the lines between residential and commercial. At the end of its life, this carpet can be recycled back into the carpet tile production process through Jacobsen’s Re.Form programme.
